Absentee Bidding for a Pink Chair-ity Chair
If you cannot attend the auction of our Pink Chair-ity Chairs at Melbourne Central on May 11 in person you can leave absentee bids by submitting your highest bid by form or taking part in the live auction via telephone. For both options, read the information below and then submit your details by the Absentee Bidding Form below.
Bidding
What is an absentee bid?
An absentee bid is your written instruction directing The Porch to bid for you on one or more Pink Chair-ity Chairs up to the maximum amount you specify for each chair.
How can I arrange an absentee bid?
You can arrange an absentee bid by filling out a form below or by telephoning The Porch.
How much should I bid?
Your bid should be the largest amount you are willing to bid in the auction. Our staff will attempt to execute your bid at the lowest possible amount as determined by the reserve and competing bids for that chair. Please bear in mind that, in addition to the successful bid amount any shipping costs will also be the buyer's responsibility (deliveries to Melbourne metro areas are free).
Is timing important?
Because absentee bids are time-stamped, it is advantageous to submit your bid as early as possible. If two or more parties leave identical bids, the first bid received will take precedence.
Can I bid any amount?
Yes, within reason. In deciding how much to bid, please keep in mind that each chair will be sold subject to a reserve.
Can I change or cancel a bid?
Yes, you can telephone or re-fill out the form. Online bids can be changed or cancelled online up to 9am on the day of the auction.
How will The Porch notify me after the auction?
Immediately after the auction, The Porch will send invoices by postal mail and email to all successful bidders.
How will the chair be delivered to me?
If you are in the Melbourne Metropolitan area, The Porch will deliver the chair to you free of charge. For country and interstate bidders, please contact us for a quote on delivery charges before bidding.
